An ester of salicylic acid and is used primarily as a skin softening ingredient. It is an emollient ingredient that offers a medium weight skin feel with properties to clarify formulations. This product is designed for use as a sunscreen booster, and can be combined with either Titanium Dioxide or Zinc Oxide, or both, regardless of particle size, to deliver a formulation that can be inclusive to all skin tones and skin types.
It also functions as a photostabilizer, helping to stabilize and maintain the effectiveness of other UV filters in the presence of sunlight.
